Character's Name: Gabriel
Series: Gabriel
Timeline: Just prior to the end of the film, after Gabriel has defeated Sammael's underlings, before he takes on the boss.

Canon Resource Link and/or Canon History: Here

Why did your character accept the invitation?: Sent to the City of Purgatory, Gabriel has defeated all of the fallen except one, and is grieving the fate off all his Brethren except one. Still eluded by his adversary and the mystery of Sammael's & Michael's whereabouts both, and having discovered a strange letter of invitation left behind in the room where the last traces of missing Archangel's presence have all but faded, Gabriel bids Amitiel farewell, promising to return when he has satisfied his all-too-human curiosity.

Character's occupation: Fighter

Character's skills/abilities/talents: Gabriel possesses supernatural speed, strength, and clairvoyance. He’s skilled in both marksmanship and hand to hand combat. He also possesses the ability to heal almost any wound or illness, provided that he has not drained/depleted his connection with the Source of his power. He also has the ability to cloak his spiritual presence so that he appears no different from any other human being.

Personality: Honest, trusting, compassionate to a fault, Gabriel believes he is the last of his kind, but he will do anything to bring redemption to those who have gone before. He possesses both unshakeable faith and unwavering determination, and he is zealous as he is compassionate. He loves what is good, hates what is evil, and does his best to discern between the two--though the longer he remains in mortal form, the more he realizes that the world is not always as black and white, cut and dried, as he presumes. Though he sometimes comes off as judgmental and perhaps even a bit naïve in all of this, he is a quick study, and slow to give up.

Strengths: Aside from his strength, speed, and experience as a warrior, his perseverance and tenacity are a great asset to any mission that he undertakes. His empathy allows him to put himself in other’s shoes, placing the needs of others before his own, and his loyalty means he will never willingly turn his back on an ally.
Weaknesses: Conversely, his kind-heart and lack of selfishness often leads him to give too much, draining himself to the point of weakening his own reserves, which not only leaves him vulnerable but could also be used against him. He is also quick to anger (call it righteous indignation), and though he is equally quick to make amends, he sometimes acts first and considers all the possible contingencies and repercussions later--which could result in unfortunate mistakes.

Third-Person Sample: Gabriel could sense the wariness coming from his destination. The aura was weaker, to a degree, lower in rank, but certainly a fellow angel. Little ripples of faith, shrouded in an all too familiar uncertainty and doubt. Human doubt. The kind that he had often struggled with, himself, in this mortal realm.

He chuckled, inwardly, as he paid the cab fare and approached the door, debating whether or not to let the other wait. He shook his head. Deciding against the all too human power play, he knocked on the door, and stood there smirking. He had a feeling that his "brother" would be in for a surprise.

When the door opened, he extended a hand in greeting, tapping the source just enough to allow himself to "read" the other's aura; where he had been, what were his intentions, whether he had kept the faith. Was this truly... "Castiel."

Castiel cocked his head and blinked once, wondering at the smirk, but made no comment. He had virtually no experience with his brothers further up the family tree, as it were, and no right to make assumptions.

Grace. Like deep calling unto deep. A willing descent, a desperate fight, a fall. A failure. All these things flashed before his mind's eye in the time it took Gabriel to clasp and release the other's hand.

Stepping inside, he shook his head, wrestling with a flash of righteous indignation. Didn't they all carry the same Light? Weren't they all charged with the same mission? Gabriel didn't think that raising the fallen Morning Star was the Light they were meant to restore.

"So you're the angel in charge of Thursdays," he said, turning in place as he attempted to maintain his center. "Nice work." His tone suggested just the opposite.
First-Person Sample: Hello. I guess it couldn’t hurt to introduce myself--since it would probably be wise to get to know the lay of the land. And my new neighbors. I am Gabriel, and I care not for fame and fortune, nor do I know exactly why I have followed this invitation--except that my gut tells me there must be a reason. What I can tell you is that I am…looking for someone. Someone I used to know. I have reason to believe he might have been invited here as well, but it’s been so long, I’m not sure I could tell you what he looks like anymore. So I’ll just say this: If you’re out there…come and get me.

Finally, what is Spekkio's favorite past time? inviting weenies to barbecue
